New Custom Oil Tank Arrived
« on: June 05, 2008, 05:36:11 PM »
Heres the latest addition to the Cafe project. Not quite what everyone else is doing ;D
Hopefully the seat will be in soon so I can weld it in and start the project rolling again.
The tank is custom made by Elswick Cycles in CA. for one very good price :) I wish all my parts
were this custom and at this price.!!

No immediate plans. Just kind of winging it piece by piece.
The Frame and body are the easy part, the engine rebuild is costing me dearly ;D

I spend a lot of time poking thru the forums, picking up useful information and ideas all
the time.

nice, exactly what i want for my next project. the only ones i can find have a battery box attached and cost nearly $200  :-\.

did you build it or buy it? i managed to scavange materials to make my own tank but i need to find bungs for the oil lines. do you, or anyone, know where to find weld in bungs to accomodate the sohc line diameters. thanks.

Hmm, my last post disappeared. Or I didnt hit the post button. ???

Gearbot, I got this tank custom made for 75.00 shipped to my doorstep. I was
even able to specify the larger oil fittings to match the 750's oil lines. What a
deal compared to the prices that I was looking at.

Where from?  I am going to ditch the stock oil tank on my 750 as soon as its on the road - its so damn ugly :(

How are you doing the Vent/overflow line from the back of the case?
that tank looks like exactly what i'm looking for
i have been contacting Coyote Gear to make me an aluminum one, but i can't really justify the cost.

I've originally intended to run the vent down to a filter bolted to the crossmember. Hopefully I'll come across something more solid before I weld in the mounting tabs.
I Pay a lot of attention to other projects here and on the chopper board when I make a last minute decision ;D
