I was getting ready to clean the gasket surface of my engine case on my '77 550, and was taking out that last o ring outboard of cylinder 4 when it flipped up landed perfectly in the gap between the piston (which was down) and the case. It landed so I could just barely see it w/ headlight, and while trying to fish it out, I lost the bit of quarter inch bit tape I had on the end of my screwdriver as well.
What should I do? I'd like to think it'll just burn up and I can just clean the sump and filter after a bit. I tried rotating the crank a half revolution to see if it hung on the rod, but no luck.
