Good evenin' fellers

Not sure if I should call myself a newbie since I first found sohc.net way back in 2000.  I might as well because I haven't been here in years.

My granddad was the second owner until '86 when he died. It was given to me in 2000 after 14 years in a garage. So far it's had new tires, chain, pipes, jet kit, etc. It had about 6500 miles on it when I got it, now it has well over 20,000.  I ride as much as I can, espicially now that gas costs so much.

I keep thinking about frame mods, like a chopper or bobber, but that look isn't quite right and I hate the peanut tanks. I think a new seat and fender in the back, and drag style handlebars up front will be the way I go with this.
No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.

Welcome and looks like the bones of a rather good bike there too.
At least yours is a moving ridable bike unlike a few of us here working in garages around the world to reach that level.
That petrol price hike might just drive a few more to dig out the old bikes from the back of the shed too.
Petrol here in NZ is $2.00+ a litre and thats only for 91 grade!
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!
