temp here in the blue ridge going to 96 today with a heat index of 109.
I checked down home and the temp is to be 103 today with heat index of 109.
the humidity is higher here than there, a first as far as I can tell.
I knew it felt as hot as dog days in NC.

This is why the wife and I broke down and bought mesh riding gear this year.

It beats ice on the roads.

It's a sweltering 69 degrees here in Denver today, and if you factor in the 25% humidity it may even feel like 70! ;D ;D

I'll be planting a Blue Spruce in the back yard this afternoon.  Sure hope I don't break a sweat! ::)

96 here in Western Central Arkansas with an index of 106. Bout th same yesterday. Got thunderstorms scheduled for tomorrow. ::)

Hey Tim, I used to spend some time each summer down there at Fort Hood outside of Kileen in July and Aug and it sure wasn't no picnic in the park. Was in the Army Reserves back then and once, one of my mechanics (I was the Motor Sgt) borrowed my helmet and shortly  after that handed it back to me. I took it and realized that it was full of ice water! He told me, if I didn't put the helmet on (which would drown me with that ice water), they (he and the other mechanics) were going to do it anyway. So, reluctantly, I closed my eyes and put that helmet on and thought I was going to go into shock! :o Man, that water was COLD !!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o

BTW, I DID get even with him. ;)

It's not so much the heat...... it's that in the fact that it goes from -30F in the winter to 100F in the summer.

Also just checked and there are a few tornado warnings in South Western Ontario  :o

........I'll stop whining now  :(  :D

with the heat bothering us, what about our bikes? what oil weight should we be using? i've read to use 20W-50 in hot weather (how hot it hot?). when i ride my quad in the summer, i would get the oil light with conventional 10W-40. i then swapped to a 10W-40 synthetic blend. no longer get the light. so, 20W-50 or synth-blend in the cb? i haven't rebuilt the engine and bought it used, so i'm assuming it's all original seals, o-rings, gaskets, etc.

i have an oil cooler adapter with cooler. would it be worth the 20 minutes to install it?

yeah, it seems really hot for june. feels like early august kinda hot. humidity doesn't help either. jeez, it feels like i'm swimming outside.
