New Owner, New Member, First Question
« on: June 10, 2008, 05:17:31 PM »
So I picked up a 71 CB750 off of Craigslist, and I'm trying to return it to some sense of stock style (there were a LOT of "extras" attached to this motorcycle.) Can someone tell me if front foot pegs and back foot pegs are identical? This motorcycle had fancy platforms where the pegs are supposed to be. I did a search for this, but I didn't find anything.

Thanks everyone. The discussion here is really fantastic.

Welcome, "i"!

The rider and passenger pegs are not identical.  The front pegs are larger and flattened on top.  The passenger pegs (at least on my K1) are much smaller in diameter and round.

i've got a 72 and the rear pegs are rubber boots that slide over a square steel tube. that tube is pinned and mounts on to a bracket that bolts through the exhaust muffler sets to help support them.

the front pegs are rubber coated, somewhat D-shaped and are spring loaded to a much beefier metal casting that bolts to the frame.

Yes, I see those pegs on eBay.  But you can go to the for sale or wanted section of this board and I bet you will find them there.  Since you are new here, you probably do not know that the guys on this board are very happy to help each other out.  I bet you can get a set here for a lot cheaper than on eBay.

Thanks everybody. I bought that copy of Clymer, and I'll check the "classifieds" here for the foot pegs. Thanks everybody.

hi iggy - i just went through my spare parts and i have two sets of front pegs and the stuff to make up the rear pegs - except for one rear peg rubber cover.  i got them off ebay long ago and ended up using something else.  the condition is pretty fair but not perfect.  i'll sell 'em to you cheap plus shipping.  pm me and i can send over pics.  they're just wasting away here.
