SOHC member takes 1st place
« on: June 09, 2008, 10:16:05 AM »
Title pretty much says it all. Took the RC172 replica GP bike to the 13th annual Gilmore Vintage motorcycle show yesterday. On of the bigger vintage shows in this area of the country. Entered the bike in a Competition bike class as a 1964 Honda RC172 replica. Took first in class and was even a runner up for best in show...which was won by a spotless restoration of a Vincent Black Shadow.

Lotsa of folks taking pics of the bike. They also loved it when ever I would fire it up. Few times guys went and rounded up some of their friends wandering around the show and brought them back and asked me to fire it up so they could hear it.

It was kind of fun drowning out the Harley's in the row behind us.

Soon as I get a chance I'll try and get a recording of it to post on here.
A good bike mechanic only needs two tools, WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move, but should, use the WD40. If it does move but shouldn't use the duct tape.

Congratulations. Post a pic of it. I didn't get to Gilmore this year.
