Have a great ride. You'll probably be sharing the road with a lot of cruiser types who will look at your bike with envy.

Well now that i have a lil more time to explain prior post...the group leader got in his head to set the pace at an extremely high speed...something i was not comfortable with however it was either attempt to keep up or wind up running solo for long stretches...along with a couple close calls one of which had me testing the braking limits of the Interceptor...i will probably be speaking to the leader and make it fairly straight forward that some of us in the group are not comfortable with pushing the limits like that especially when theres moments of rapid decelleration that had my bike managed to slow down in time i probably would not be typing this post now..nor would other members of my group be in that great of shape either...that is if they had survived...the situation that had me so spooked was that the entire group fanned out over the road trying to slow down enough to turn into one check point...due to poor planning of where to place the sign indicating where it was..due to which...lets just say i had the potential of becoming a high speed cue ball breaking up a set of racked balls...

Yeah man, I would have definitely said something to the lead rider when that happened.  It's the leader's responsibility to set a comfortable pace for the entire group, and to clearly signal the group's direction in upcoming intersections or stops.

Looks like he failed both of those duties.  I would have said F it and rode home after some choice words with the lead rider.

I echo the above comments! After all, it is supposed to be a Poker Run and NOT a Poker RACE!! >:( Too bad he had to screw it up! :(

first words i stated as soon as i dismounted at the last stop...Never Again...The thing that kinda puts me in a bind is the fact that the one that caused this is one of the group leaders of LSR...but over the past few hours i have been considering leaving LSR if this type of thing is going to happen...

Clearly understandable, Chris. It's too bad that things like that have to happen. Some folks just don't really know how to just go out and casually ride.

Most of the poker runs i have ridden on,Are with the v twin people.A ride not a race.
Saying this comes from riding an average of at least 5 to 7 runs a year?To me all the fun is the riding with friends or new people just met.

Tell him to slow down and enjoy the ride.

Chris - your "leader" is an irresponsible idiot. You should ride with us GHOFs - 90km/hr on the least travelled rural highays. ;D

I didnt mind traveling at 100-120...thats typical road speeds around here..hell most of the time i was taking turns at around 100..there was this nice set of curves on the first stage of the ride that allowed me to truely put the Interceptor through its paces..but no...half the time it felt like i needed to knock on the 180 km/h door to keep up...The one leading kept claiming they were traveling around 135...BS!!!!! at 135 i should be able to keep up and almost out corner them..there was a Can Am Spyder running with us and he agreed we were going at a pace we shouldnt have been..he was knocking on the spyders top speed along the way as well...Next year...if i get talked into it again it will be done on a Shadow or a new Hyosung GT650...if they break pace like that again..sorry..im not gonna play that game again..
