Hello from Lavon, Texas
« on: June 10, 2008, 07:07:13 PM »
Hello, My name is Wayne Meuir and I am an old retired guy who tinkers with old bikes for a hobby. I live in Lavon, Texas which is about 30 miles Northeast of Dallas. I have been riding bikes since I was 11, which is more than a half century.  I started on a Chusman Eagle in 1958 and I am sure I have logged more miles on a bike than 90% of the riders in the world.  I still ride about 12-14K miles a year and would ride more, but all my friends gave it up long ago, I guess they got old or something! ;D.

I currently have a number of bikes.  Sorted by age: 1965 Suzuki X6 Hustler (have two of them, both needing restoring), '72 Kawasaki H2 Restoration in progress, about half done and trying to finish by years end(yeah, I know I'm slow), 73 Suzuki GT550, 74 Suzuki GT550, 75 Kawasaki H1 in about as good original, unrestored condition as you will find outside a museum and bone stock, 76 Suzuki GT750, this was my preservation project last year and is built from the frame up, not totally original, but close and rides really nice, 77 Kawasaki KH400 with 1700 original miles, pristine except for paint which was screwed up by stuff being piled on it while in storage by PO, 84 Yamaha RZ350, original with 13,000 miles and in better than average unrestored condition, 2002 Kaw Concours daily rider.

Now for why I am here: Today I bought a 1978 Honda 750 Supersport.  It is not original, but it looks great.  Not running because it was stored for a long time with old gas in the carbs, key has been lost, so I am going to try to get her going.  I will be needing help from you guys because I know nothing about this bike yet.

Good to be here!

Yo from New Zealand, can you give us a peek at your 2 hustlers?
You certianly have a collection......Hush.
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

I'll try to get some pics in the next day or two.  The Hustlers are badly in need of restoring and partly dissassembled, but I think I have everything except some cables and such.  I actually bought them to keep them from getting parted out because I think they are better than that and there are so few left now, however, parts are scarce for them.

Here is a couple of pics of some my bikes.  They may not be too good becasue I have a really crummy camera.
'78 CB750 F3 that I bought yesterday.  Gave $500 for it not running, working on brakes today.

'76 Waterbuffalo that I did last year.

'75 Kaw H1  Totall original even the paint.

'84 RZ350 better than average unrestored.

'65 Suzuki X6 Hustler needing everything, one of two that I have in about the same condition.

'77 Kaw KH400 with 1700 Original miles and paint job screwed up by P.O.

'72 H2 Frame Up restoration about half done.
