I haven't had to go to work for 14 years. Made some good moves when I was in my 30s.

I Had a different tank and seat on it at the time. When it was stolen there was a gold wing parked right next to me. They smashed the ignition and hot wired it. Now I always lock the forks, even parked in my own garage.sorry to see such a thing. was that a CB750? but how did you happen to come across it - sheer chance?I'd like to hear more stories from you folks, more positive ones from you lockless riders perhaps? and recommendations on locks from those that do. most cable + u-locks seem like too much of an encumbrance; ideal would be something that i could stow somewhere in or on the bike itself without requiring its own storage, eg - this is close: Sorry to get back so late. Yes it's my 71 750 chopper. I had lots of chrome on it. was working out some bugs in the engine and had a plain black tank and oem seat on it at the time.Fast forward three years later. As my job at the time included visiting all over the county and walking around in peoples back yards I had never stopped looking for it. It was big fashion at the local highschool to steal hood ornaments from cars and wear them as necklaces at the time. My nephew wanted one so I told him I would take him to a junk yard to look for one. We walked into the junk yard and I saw a row of bikes. We looked over every one but didn't see it. Just when we were going to go back to the autos I saw a pile of frames, walked over and there it was. Spent the next two days going through three police departments telling my story over and over again to detectives who didn't really want to hear it. I got so fed up with them that when the last one asked me "how do you know it's your bike?" I told him " I can stand here and tell you but you will have to listen to my story for the next 10 minits." He just turned to the street officer next to him and told him to go with me. We went to the junk yard, the officer asked me which one it was, and "uh, where is the VIN number?". He compairs the VIN number and says," Hey, this is your bike!) DUH!!!!!!So I have a chopper frame and tank/seat combo setting in my garage. Maybe one of these days I'll rebuild it.

have thought about an alarm, but how would you react if it went off?
People whom lock their cars around here are usually from out of state
