slim line turn signals...
« on: June 14, 2008, 12:15:59 PM »
I have been considering replacing stock turn signals for some that are smaller and closer in.  Does anyone have something like this?  If so, then where'd you get it?  Also, anyone have experience with the LED lamps?  I would like to go this route as I believe that they would be more durable, but I don't really know.

Thanks

These are Buell items, smaller than stock with a flex in the stalk. Bought them used on e-bay, they are not LED.

You want "slim line" and LED?  On the front of my project, I used a flexible amber LED arrays from Custom Dynamics.  They wrap around the fork tubes and light up pretty brightly.  Hardly noticeable when not in use.  On the rear I used a set of auto-gem baby bullet led lights.  Have a cool honeycombed glass lense.  If I had it to do over I would have gotten the less expensive and brighter non LED versions as the rears aren't as bright as I would like.  If you use LED signals you will need to get an electronic flasher relay that is designed to work with LEDs.  Not a big deal or big money.  LED signals are perhaps a bit more long lived, but they are typically more expensive and don't save you much electrical juice (since they are on so rarely) if that is a concern.  Stylistically they offer some options that standard bulbs do not. . . . .

Kellerman's are nice but expensive. I have a set on the rear of my busa. They are very bright and approved in Europe (as long as the spacing is correct). They are very slim.
