Finally, on the road
« on: August 27, 2005, 07:50:15 PM »
Hi everybody,

As some of you know, I did some minor work myself and took my bike to a mechanic to certify it and that ended up into a bit more. There are still some carb issues to deal with according to him (the mech'). This morning I called and asked him if the bike was streetable and he said yes, so I went and picked it up. I drove it around some this afternoon and was very pleased. This bike pulls like it's nobody's business and corners great and I am so pleased, what an awesome bike! The after-market exhaust just howls when I crack it open and it sounds soooo sweet.
I took my 12 year old daughter for a little ride because she's been dieing to go for a ride since I bought the bike (back in June). She had a smile ear-to-ear the whole time.  ;D So did Dad  ;D

I'll deal with the carbs later (in the fall). The only minor PITA right now is the signal lights. They blink if I move the button part way, all the way over and the signal(s) stays on without flashing. I think it's a switch issue.

...on the turn signal thing, check u'r bulbs first...these bulbs have two filiments in them, when on burns out they tend to just stay on and not blink...

Could also be a bad ground.  My 750 did the same thing, the ground inside the headlight shell at the fork ear was bad.  Cleaned up the connection and like magic, everything worked again.
