I got email warnings of Severe Thunderstorm Watches an Warnings with winds from 60-80mph and hail from penny to quarter size. It all come through Oklahoma (Don't know if okie &/or firecracker got any of that stuff or not. We just caught the side of it down here (some pretty good wind and a lot of rain). Supposed to be more possible today. SUre feel for those with all the flooding like Iowa and all. :(

                               Later on, Bill ;)

Other than having to mow the lawn at least twice a week, thanks to all of the rain, no problems here.

No problems here.  Thankfully, I'm in Norman.  Since the government controls the weather, and all their weather people are here, they send the bad stuff around us...

Good to know that you all are okay and okie, I fully understand the feeling about cutting your grass so much. I've been having to cut my grass, uh I mean grass/weed mix more often than I use to because of all the rain. Lke I said though, it's Good to know that you all are okay and not having trouble as any result from the weather. 8) ;)

You know, we used to have some government weather people here , but they were moved out to Tulsa I think and maybe that's why we've getting some bad storms through this area now. ;D

It is cool having the best weather forecasting around.  Remember the May 3, 1999 tornadoes?

My "regular" basketball game went on as usual*.  We had a radio to listen for weather updates, but trusted it was going to pass North of us.

*Freaked out/pissed off the wives that we were so cavalier about it, but if you KNOW it's not going to hit, why worry? ???

At 3:15 in the video, you see what happened about 6 miles North of us.  Hmmm, maybe I should have worried a bit?

Which  of the storm threads to revive?

Maybe one of the not Bob Wessners  can combind them.

Something is winding up hard, if it doesn't happen here tomorrow, there will be violent weather somewhere northeast of us, Illinois, ohio, Kansas already maybe. Record three digit temps and cold fronts do crazy things. Y'all be ready for it to disrupt your day tomorrow.

Here's the local:

Strong south winds and unusually warm temperatures for the early morning will characterize the weather for the next several hours. A surface low induced by an approaching upper level storm system... and centered in southwest Kansas... is forecast to move to the northeast later this morning. A tight pressure gradient associated with the surface low... as well as strong winds just above the surface mixing downward... will keep wind speeds in the 25 to 35 mph range through 4 am. Frequent gusts over 40 mph are expected in western Oklahoma... with a few gusts to near 50 mph at locally high elevations. The strong winds will keep temperatures mostly in the middle to upper 80s. There is a low chance of isolated showers forming from Wichita Falls up toward the Oklahoma City Metro area by around 6 am.

Yeah, This one is pretty old. "Okie" isn't here anymore and I haven't seen or heard from firecracker in
some time now.

Those storms that come up out of Texas and into Oklahoma, usually come over through part of Arkansas.
Appreciate the input. We've had some pretty good ones this year already, but fortunately now where near
as bad as what went through Joplin, Missouri.

I kind of miss the breeze now, but this is still a doozie, mrore started as a low around Denver that has been sucking lots of hot air  to el Norte'  Nebraska, etc. Today is a day to direct your prayers east of there, it's a strong and potentially violent system.

Yeah, it seems like we are getting more and more weather problems that are mighty devastating alright.
Prayers are coming for those folks affected, that's for sure.  ;)
