carb price?
« on: June 21, 2008, 11:00:06 AM »
I just recently got a cb550 motor complete but no carbs.  A local guy has all four for 150.00.  Is that a pretty good price or should I keep searchin'?

If they are complete, clean, and ready to install and run, I'd say decent price. If they're junkers that have been sitting in a box for years, keep lookin'.

That's a good price if they been professionally rebuilt within the last year and haven't been sitting with fuel in them.

If they need a rebuild or cleaning then it is a good price for the seller, not the buyer.

You get a carb bank off ebay that needs rebuild/cleaning for $40-60, if you are patient.  probably not now with the summer demand, though.
