I have 2 750 F1. One has the old style carbs with the round slide caps and snap hoops to hold the bowls on. It has 120's main jets with pods and will both idle and rev out great. The newer style carbs on the other 750 F has three screw tops and 3 screw bowls. I just put 120's main jets it it, up from 115 which was running yesterday. The reason I changed them is the 115 mains didnt want to idle bellow 1400 rpm and flattened out at about 3200 before coming on strong at about 4000. I thought that by putting 120 mains in the new style carbs would compensate for the pods on it and now the bike wont even fire. I have done nothing to the bike or carbs except putting in 120 since last it ran. Now the question. Was I presumptuous in thinking that 120 mains in the old style carbs equaled to 120 mains in the new style? Is it too much gas now? Or am I missing something? Wouldn't be the first time if I did!!!
