Sunday Update: Time moved from afternoon to 10A to 1P. Feels good to be back at it. Besides scoring the Owners Manual above, we finished the cooler mounting bracket, making a final fourth one to suit. We can use it as is for now, and use it as a template for a slightly thicker aluminum one later.
Called Plating Services for update, they're working on it.
Took pipe off (what a pain) and removed oil pump. Happy to say not a fleck of matter in the pan or in the screen after 70 miles + mintues of running. Yay! But all the oil was in the pan, it had wet sumped. A little showed up on homemade dipstick, about 1.5 in in bottom of tank. Leaning left and vertical. That would probably come out from the plug drain, which we'll pull later. Also, tipping the bike to the rt to get that last bit, if so inclined.
Also, pulling the pan plug then reinstalling, then puling the pan shows there is quite a bit of oil left in the pan after pulling the plug. So between the tank, the oil lines and the pan, there is still a cup or so of dirty oil lft behind in an oil change.

Chucked it up in vise to break pressure relief cap off and replace spring. See clean screen. (It was filthy after 5 miles on first engine. Old clutch shredded itself I guess.) New APE clutch intact, and deserved.

Took the new VESSEL Impact with JIS bits to get that last screw out. First two came out with hand held air impact.
Thanks

I bought this pump from EBAY, $75., seller swore it had 7500 miles on it. The rotors are pristine, so I think so, not a scratch. Though I wouldn't be worried if it did, these pumps are overbuilt I think.

New spring on left, old one on rt, tho not so old. So not sure why that much length difference, but I put it in anyway. Get rid of that oil post nasal drip.

Gotta get that pesky seal out and button it back up. NExt time.
PS: There was a thread about the orientatiion of the marks on the rotors. On the little pump side both pointed to enter of pump. On the big pump side, little rotor pointed inside, big rotor mark was outside. Go figure.
