Where's the "Post Dyno Charts Here" thread?
It's on the high performance/racing board. Did you get a print of the torque with MPH?

Thanks, I thought so, but couldn't find it. I'll keep looking.

No chart of torque w/ mph. What would that tell me? Besides the obvious.

There are discrepancies in the HP curves between the RPM chart and the MPH chart: on the RPM chart, the newest run is always above the old run, but on the MPH chart, the newest run is way below the old run until about 90 MPH. Also, the curve is smooth instead of jagged. I think I posted graphs similar to this on the dyno thread, and it was attributed to the tire slipping on the drum? The torque values were wacky when plotted against MPH.

Ah, I see it now. I like the HP on the MPH chart better than the rpm chart.   :D

I've found another DynoJet guy up in Kokomo, about 60 miles from here. Think I'll try him next. Its a mobile unit, built on/in a box trailer with opening sides, based in Kokomo, but he travels around to the shows and does Dynoruns. I'll have to see his schedule.

But I'm happy with what's going on. I'm not racing for money or anything. Just didn't want to be too lean, and was curious as to where I was power wise.

We're ready for the drags, as soon as Rick is back in town, geared way down, and a couple of shows coming up.

Dang! Drags got rained out. (... and it don't rain in Indianapolis in the summertime...) But I got some picks of the thrashing getting ready. Not thrashing like real racers thrash, but at my level.

Made a oil breather catch can out of my L-dopa medicine bottle. Thought that was fitting.  ;D

Had to reinforce the centerstand stop. It was made from aluminum and was bending up each time the stand hit it. Stand hitting chain. I bent it back and scabbed a piece of steel angle onto it. Will get a proper one built at Saldana.

I'll be ready to go next Wednesday, no thrashing necessary.

Got to the Drags last night: Lucas Oil Raceway. Had fun! 5 runs. Best ET had the slowest MPH. Worst ET had the fastest MPH. Go figure.

Other than outliers, 1 each ET and MPH, very consistent.

Bike ran well, no smoke, no leaks. Clutch maintained good feel.  I'll post up the timeslips soon. Avg ET about 13.6, @ 105.25.

Rick admits he needs some work on launching it. Suggestions welcome.   ;D

On one run he missed the shift to 5th gear, stuck it back in and finished with a 14.35 @ 105.75. Had he made the 5th gear, that would have been about a 13.2 I figure.

As quiet as it is, I was standing about even with the trees, and could hear him miss the shift. Helps that he was running alone, those things are LOUD!

Assorted pictures from Wild Wednesday Night:
Loaded:

Unloaded:

Run what you Brung:

Staging:

Mini Dragsters, Briggs and Stratton powered:

Approaching the line:

Lots of really cool Hot Rods and Modifieds, Top Fuel slingshots too,

The sun hit the flame just right, had to snap it: (that is not my oil on the ground underneath.)

Sun setting on LOR, raced till 9:30:

Results were about the same as last year. Even dropping the Drive Sprocket a tooth to a 16, not much difference. I figure Rick needs at least 5 more runs to get the feel of the wheel spin v clutch slipping etc. Had a lot of people commenting on Phaedrus, the paint and the engine build. Fun conversations. Everybody had a CB750 or knows someone who did.

LOR is closed to locals for 2 weeks for the NHRA Summer Nationals and another major event. But we'll be back as soon as we can, looks like Sept 14th. The next week is the Louisville KickDown Show, then another run at the Ohio Mile. I've got a 43 tooth rear sprocket for that event. :D

Hold it at 8 or 9k as the lights go down , then on green feed the clutch out as fast as it can take it..should take20-30 feet. If it starts to lift too high dial back throttle a bit and/or clutch if need be.
In burnout box just spin the tire couple times, then try a few dry hops to see if it grabby....no need to burn up ten dollars of tire every run to put on a show. Now if it never hooks up you may have to heat tire more.

"drags..."  those whom might wear ladies garments or other more delicate garments...

Yeah, it was obscure and it was late and no one can follow the humor sometimes...guess that makes it not humorous.

Bike is looking great!

So, you pulling it part to drop a more radical cam this winter along with a Yoshi style pipes (RippleRock, MotoGP?, etc.)

Thanks!  New seat and pulling off the luggage rack fit the current mission better.
Won't be making any changes soon. Just want to get the best result from what's been done already.  But, a cam and a pipe are in the future.

More updates and pictures to follow, but first, some R&R in Gatlinburg TN.
