CBJoe gave me the link, which is in the post of a few ago. I've never dealt with them. I've read up on their operation. They manufacture out of the UK, and ship out of somewhere in FL. They seem to be worldwide. The pricing is on each product description. Colors are more.

But they are crazy cool in that they are pre drilled for safety wire. All shapes and sizes. Hope to get my order in this week. They are evidently big on drilled sprocket nuts. But a nut is a nut and you get your size and pitch and order.

I've found places that drill bolts, but none other that drill nuts. I tried to drill a few with a small drill press and jig, and failed miserable. Bit breaks with the slightest pressure.

Bruce and I were having trouble getting our head's wrapped around the cam degreeing process. We'ld done it years ago with a 41 grind. Now we're doing a CycleX C7 cam which is similar to a something or other big lump cam.

Build Buddy Joe (CBJoe) brought his dial indicator kit over. It appears to be like mine but like 15-20% more beef. We were able to get real good readings off of it, and I think we have it. We'll get some third party confirm, then move along.

Pics, etc to follow. Just glad to have that out of the way. On to better things.   :D

It started easily, did not smoke, but doesn't seem to be running on all 4. We can fix that.  Pipes sound Gooood!

Here’s the first start last week....missing on 1 and 4

Pulled the Smoothbores to to check and adjusted the float heights.  Then found a few things wrong :)

All corrected and what do you know...It’s Alive!

YAY! More stills and explanation later.   ;D   ;D   ;D   ;D

Those blips were with a semicold motor, partial choke (dummy), gas turned off (dummyx2) and only about 5K.

Turn the volume on your computer up to get the bass of the exhaust note.

Build Buddy Bruce is still with us, every day that I'm in the shop so is he.

Joe injected some enthusiasm and a different set of eyes that was sorely needed, and big thanks goes to Bruce and Joe. While this was a milestone, we'll be whiddling away on this project for a while. Joe has been drafted for break in duties, and we gotta get a good dyno run. Then we'll see whats next.

PS: Because of my Parkinson's it takes an effort to get a smile out of me, but that did it.   ;D

In the second vid we can see that the #1 slide had become disconnected from the actuating bar. None of us have any idea how that could have happened. The set bolt was in a tray I keep on the workbench for misc bolts. It would have required removing the cap, held by 3 screws. Once threaded in, number 1 was synchronized with 2,3,4, working as it should. That would explain why the last dyno run was 2/3 of what I expected. It would also explain why the compression was so low. It wasn't getting any air to compress!

Man, that will go down as a mystery of the ages. I'm thinking it had to do when I was prepping to send them out for cleaning, then decided not to. Just spec, I have no memory of removing it.

I almost didn't post this,as it is way embarrassing. But, that's one of the privileges of old age, no shame.   :(

Sounds great Ron in spite of the circumstances.  Should get a neat dyno run.  God predetermines one f/u per rebuild.  Nice to get that out of the way.  Nice work guys.
