AS mentioned, I'm going from recent to not so recent:
New Avon tyres mounted up and balanced.
Here's my tool for holding the axle still whilst removing the axle nut:
We have to remove 1 caliper to get the front wheel off, and let out all the air, and English it just right. Luckily we don't have to break the hydraulic line, jus bungee the caliper up out of the way, and stuff a dbl fold of cardboard in the pads to keep them from closing.
We modified the truing stand by moving the stantions together. There wer 2 holes for a slight adjustment. But that's simply not enough to keep the wheel steady. So Joe drilled aother set.
The purple nuts are cool. But slightly taller than stock, so they look like they're not on all the way. Don't know if I can stand for that.
Job 1 will be to get the brakes working. It took a while but we discovered that when the wheel was at certain parts of its up and down arc, the brake actuation rod came into contact with my ubertrick centerstand stay. So, we need to move the over the the left side and give the rod room to breath. That means new muffler mounts both left and right. I've got some other ideas, both functional and blingful. More later.
