So, after a struggle, I got the timing reset. The Iridium spark plugs were very dirty and the gap has mysteriously increased to over 40thou. I'm sure I'd set them around 30thou. Anyway the break-in set were nice and tan and gapped nice, so I reused them.

Mobile Dyno called and said they would be in Indy next week. They called appt once they get set up.

Their sniffer is 9/16" so I need to drill appropriate size holes in the plate baffles of the new muffler/megaphones. No prob.

Gotta fit the carbs and get it started. Then I'll put the strobe and dwell on it.

Pics at 11.

Would an insulated belt pouch work to hold your nitro pills??  That gets them out of your pocket...you want them on right side if you are getting pain on left it can be difficult to use that arm....in case you are left handed...

Hmm... I have a miniature leather Indian wampum pouch with a draw string. I could clip it to my Dockers with a miniature carabiner.  I'm 1/64th Cherokee, so I'm allowed.   :D

Got an appt with my cardio MD Friday, I'll ask him what he thinks.

Gapping Iridium or Platinum plugs??

It's my understanding that these metals are just plated. Should the tip be bent and would it possibly damage the plating?

Got me. I'm just a sucker for the hype. I started with plain Jane NGK D8EAs. Then after 150 miles or so, switched to the iridium, can't remember why. But they were all black after 25 miles and the little center wire looked so puny, and somehow they have this huge gap, 40thou+.

I've just switched back to the D8EAs. I also bot some DPR8EA-9 at HondaMan's suggestion. Got them today. But I'll try to start it with the D8EAs just because they are already in.

I'm really bummed. Had to cancel the Dyno run and the trip to Louisville Kick Down. Neurologist wanted me to get a spinal tap, which I did on Wednesday. It really wasn't all that bad, but I lost my enthusiasm for other activities and also, didn't want to overcommit had their been a problem with the procedure. Other than the  "prick" of the anesthesia needle, and the fact they had to do it 3 times to find a good spot to tap, it was just the discomfort of laying there for 20 minutes.

Anywho, the "dinner plate" hibiscous  went crazy this year. This wasn't the best example, it had 25 blossoms on it one day.

I'm really happy with the right side muffler mount. Saldana built a centerstand stop into it, with a hefty brace. The last one I had would bend over time with the impact of the rising centerstand.

This one is for Terry. He made noises in another thread that he may want to organize his shop. I just fell into this arrangement but it works real well. Takes about $500 worth of the wire closet shelves, braces, track etc. They can hold an enormous amount of weight. Everything hangs from the runner at the top of the wall, so there is no interference hiding rolling chassis, and sweeping underneath.  And hang on the designated wall. Then I used bankers boxes as I had a lot around. They all are uniform in size which makes it look better, and draws better when you pull one  or more to search, they can go back up easily as they each took the same size on the shelf. And label the end of each box as best as possible with the contents of each box. Hang cables with wire tags indicating what they go to. etc.

In each box, the items are bagged and tagged. Brackets with hardware, lengths of wires identified, if damaged, that's identified, if its a hose, its stuffed and snuffed, so it won't drip out over time.

That looks fantastic Ron, sadly I've got a steel garage, so I can't hang anything heavy off the walls. Looks great though. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

Terry if you sunk some I beams in at the walls exterior against your steel garage you could tie into them through the wall and do so.  Plant them in concrete and give them a very good coat of heavy rust preventative enamel.  Heck, you build a frame from side to side with an overhead beam and you could cut a hole around the overhead beam to box it in and use the beam as a trolley chain lift rail.

After a little diddling around it seems to run fine now.

Finished drilling out the flat baffles in the mufflers so the Dyno sniffer wand can penetrate down to the collector. It was pretty much a butcher job. Making one hole after another, larger and larger using the bit extension shown. I bot that thing over 30 years ago for a car project I never got to do.  got a lot of odd tools that way. They all should be good for something someday.

Drill out some holes, grab it with needle-nose and twist, repeat.

The hibiscus was on fire today.

lot of return for the small effort. Each bloom lasts 24 hours, so its constantly changing.

The sound seems to be...louder. Just a tad. Performance, who knows. At this level I'm working on the louder is better principle. Since I have no reason to care if its civil on the road.

I always likened a 4-1 to tearing a piece of sheet metal. Which I liked. But putting up with their compromises (poor access to pan, pump, messy oil changes etc.) pushed me to the 4-2. Plus I just didn't like the angle 4-1 had.

I liken the 4-2 to a 50s era Chriscraft burble, and a mighty loud roar. I'll be getting a sound/vid of it soon.

Thanks guys, it does have a pretty sturdy internal frame, and I have thought about bracing it further and building a "mezzanine" floor to store parts off the floor, bu the roof isn't that high, and putting the bits (especially plastic parts) that close to a tin roof during an Aussie summer is asking for trouble.

What I really need to do is just get rid of a lot of stuff, but hell I'll admit it, I'm a hoarder! ;D

Very impressive hibiscus! Here on Maui they sometimes need a lot of pesticides to keep the bugs away, we gave up on them.
In the photo of the exhaust I see a lower shock bolt that looks like an Allen head. I'm having trouble finding any stainless shock hardware, is that Allen head stainless or chrome?

No prob with bugs. Couple of doses of generic fertilizer and it did it on its own.

That's a chrome Allen from Ace Hardware.
