Wow, thanks for the response. I know the thread has been beneficial to many in many ways. It sure isn't ending up the way I originally envisioned. So, we'll see what the future brings.

CBJoe came over and degreed in our camshaft, a CX-7 from CycleX. I watched him, but I doubt if I could do it on my own. Now we're down to replacing the left side engine covers, valve cover, installing the carbs and finishing up. Guess I'll park it for a while. Next step would be a DYNO run, but I'll need help, or rather, I'll need somebody to load it, drive it and me over there, sit with us till its done, then take us home.

This project is still ongoing with upgrades!
I can fully understand the feeling since my K6 has been a project rebuilding it since first winter after purchase 1979, used it to late 1990, parked, back on the road 2014 after 2 years of restore/repair. Updated constantly after that.

Now running fine but will get more changes.

- CX-7 cam is the new update?
High lift on both In and Ex.
Aiming for +90 hp?

Good luck for a good dyno result!

Ron, I beat you and it's only taken us about 10 years. LMAO. Labor of love with some hate thrown in. My 915, on it's 3rd leg haha, is on the road and it is one bad mofo! I have not found access to a dyno yet for fine tuning. A new Indian shop here says yes they have a dyno but nothing on it over 25 years old. I don't think they'd count it as being new however. I told them I just want some pulls with the results and won't let them do any tuning if that's what they think. No matter. I put a feeler out to another place without a response. You better get it going or I'll have the 1000 parts bike carbs dialed in too. It just made it's first ever maiden voyage Monday.

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement everyone!. I see that the pics from my previous posts have dropped the negative legend and are now visible. I guess photobucket did that. I'm still working with them as my account isn't allowing me to upload more pics. But, they've given me some tips to try. They really bit off a lot when they took everyone hostage and raised their rates. I see they've dropped about half of their staff including the execs who came up with that great idea. They have since repriced everything and its more reasonable.

I've lost track of which came first the cam or the pipe or the carbs, etc. I think we had the CX 7 at the last Dyno run. The chronology has escaped me. But, there's the cam, new piston kit from CycleX, coated and deeper pockets, jugs to match.

Yes the goal is 90hp. Since I can't ride anymore, and with covid, I probably wouldn't if I could, there is no pressure to finish. Though I would like to get to a point where we can say it is.

We got all the peripheral pieces back on. Engine side covers, cam cover, carbs, throttle cable vent tubes etc.

Next step is fire it up.

Thanks to CBJoe, completely due to his efforts. That first video was the first push of the starter button, completely cold and lifeless for nearly a year or more. The lope in the idle may be from the lumpy lump cam. Makes it sound like a old time chriscraft speedboat.

I completely agree that that first start up sounded much better than it did last year. Also, once warmed up it also just sounded much better than ever before. Wish I could get my bike to idle that low

Joe was able to put some miles on Phaedrus, about 7 or so. All systems GO!

Here you go...had to edit it up into a few clips. Bike handled great and had a noticeably more umph/grunt through the gears and rev range than before. So initially it seems to like the re-jet. Maybe we can get a few more miles on it and then get to the Dyno. Was a lot of fun for sure
