Hit a GRIZZLY BEAR??  :o  What was he riding, a 2-wheeled TANK??  :D  Seriously, my luck would have that I would have just made the bear MAD an I would have had to run for my life! :(

                      Grizzly killed in crash

A Saskatchewan motorcycle rider who struck and killed an adult grizzly will live to tell the
                     tale.

The man, who was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that he’d purchased just two weeks
ago, was making his way through Kootenay National Park on Tuesday night when he hit a
bruin that was trying to make its way across Hwy. 93, said Columbia Valley RCMP Cpl.
                     Brent Ayers.

“He was heading north towards Canmore when a grizzly bear ran across the road in front of
                     him,” he said.

“He was unable to avoid hitting grizzly and bear died on impact.”

The crash occurred near an area called Kootenay Crossing, approximately 200 km west of
                     Calgary.

The rider, who’s believed to be 50 years of age, was taken to Banff’s Mineral Springs
Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, said Ayers.

No charges are pending, he said.

At least he's not over here on the Coast or he could have lost a foot :o

The end of the article says no charges pending.  Imagine hitting a bear then getting prosecuted for killing it?  :o :o

One oversized motorcycle and three weeks riding experience > Grizzly bear.

i'd prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.  it's obvious that the biker lured the bear out onto the road with food, hid down the road and when he saw the bear snacking, revved up his bike and slammed into the bear at warp speed in a stunt that was to air on the cable tv show 'jackass'.  he then crawled off his bike, gathered up the bait and tossed it into the woods, hiding the evidence of bear torture.  the bear was still alive and the rider had chuck norris snap its neck with a round house kick.  chuck's sneaker print was covered up by the bear fur.  this is obviously a cover-up by the canadian mounted police in exchange for chuck's autograph and some bear sausages.
i can be reached at the national PETA headquarters if anyone is willing to come forward with testimony.
