Try JE Pistons for custom pistons.  I have no direct experience, but a friend had a set made up for his custom Porsche engine build-up.

Thanks but those aren't right.  Our bores are 61mm.  Those are 65mm.  I need 1.2/1.2/2.8.  I called Wiseco, Total Seal, and Hastings, none of which could help me. 

I tried a bunch of local machinists, no one could cut my pistons in a timely manner. And even then they wanted too much to do it. 

So I ordered a Cycle-X 836 kit and their Pre-Bored cylinders.  They were great to deal with and are expediting the shipping so I get them Thursday(for a price of course). 

Thanks for the info guys, sorry to ressurect an old thread with my freaking out.

However I DO feel it is important that this info is out there.  There ARE thinner rings that are no longer available.  My pistons are factory Honda 61mm pistons with 1.2/1.2/2.8 rings.  So I would recommend, that if you are going to overhaul an F2 or F3, disassemble, inspect, then order parts!

I have the same pistons in a K7 the rings are part # 13011-392-004  the 392 instead of the thicker 300-024 part number on the K6 and before models. I know the K7 and F2 were the same, now the 78 F3 were I think a 425 part number.

Service Honda has them, and I have found a few sets on ebay, but at around $40 per set, I think I'm just going with Cycle X 850cc kit.

Hi all! Resurrecting this post....but since I'm the one who started it if you dont like it, eat my shorts :P

I have a couple of questions:

Mandic: Could you post your engine number so that we may have a reference point for when Honda was using those different pistons?

Rbmgf7: Did you ever assemble your F2? I'm finally going to need to rebuild mine and I'm curious how the Total seal rings worked out for you.

Honda switched to the -392 rings late in the '76 CB750F production cycle. Probably the last month or so. Until then they were all -300 rings on -392 pistons. Sorry but I'm away from my parts manuals for a few days and can not give you a specific engine number. It was near CB750E-10054xxx. I would ASSUME that all the 77 and 78 K's used the thinner compression rings since they used the same engine that came from the late 76 F but with a different series of serial numbers. 1.2mm vs 1.5mm and oil rings the same IF MY MEMORY serves me correctly. Now if you could find earlier F pistons you could use "regular" -300 rings.

  has the 1.2,1.2,2.8 ring grooves.
so i an use the 13011-392- rings right???
