Well this was at a car show in town Wednesday. Looked kinda cool and had some nice features. But after taking several minutes on the all flash web site to find a starting price of $15,000, I think it is just another toy catered to individuals with way too much disposable cash...

Its actually quite the competent performer. That was one upside to that poker run i went on...I got to watch one of these can ams in action. It was riding with my group and at least its rider had a sense of when the hell to slow down so i was usually closest to it while the rest of the group raced off into the distance...though that Can Am will get up and move just as well!..it was amusing watching some of the turns from a distance..the bikes having to lay on the brakes and the can am just keeping at its pace..

P.S. Thanks for the personal feedback. I still think they are asking BMW prices for the bike. I would prefer to own a R1150GS for that amount of cash.

Im half amazed he hasnt yet...but then again i havent really hung out with the group since then....Hopefully later this summer i will be starting on my bobber so that may be the bike i use for it next year if i participate. Your quite welcome for the feedback. I can understand how you feel about the price though. But in my case i would take the Can Am over the beemer due to the fact of customer support for my area...there is a can am dealer here while there isnt a beemer dealer here...BTW..the can am that was in the run was that dealers demo bike.

I was looking at one of these at my local dealer the other day.  I really like the style and think it would make a great commuter, but they could really cut that price for normal folks.  I would love to see an SV650 (or the like) based version. I think they could keep it well under 10 grand if they wanted to and still have a great machine.

      That Spyder Can-am IS pretty cool and all. I'd kinda like to see a 4 wheel vehicle powered by a bike (or at least by most of a bike). You know, something kinda like the Mazda Miata or similar, but using bike parts and engine. Just my own thoughts there. Or maybe something similar to an 4wheel ATV but with actual motorcycle power, wheels and suspension but totally streetable. I'm probably getting a bit "Out There", but it's what I have been thinking about.

Did a 'skills test' with a couple of these, recently. They are classified as a three wheeled motorcycle, so get lumped together with trikes and motorcycle/sidecar combinations. Personally I don't get it....especially when one of the riders (drivers?? pilots??) said that the reson she opted for this over a motorcycle was that she felt safer in the event of an impact from the front.

The only thing that makes me feel safer from a front end hit is a good helmet, not an extra wheel.

What you need my friend, is a Smart Diablo. It's basically a Smart car, with a Hayabusa engine. It beats a Ferrari 430 in a dragrace, and does stoppies and burnouts too

     Not much on the shape, but the results are astounding! That would be pretty cool to be able to blow off some of that "High Powered" stuff with a litle crackerbox size car. Talk about a "Sleeper"!   Thanks for posting!
