Yoshimura Honda 350F ??
« on: June 19, 2008, 07:56:44 PM »
Is this for real?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YOSHIMURA-HONDA-350-FOUR_W0QQitemZ350071175320QQihZ022QQcategoryZ80647QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I tried to find some info but came up empty. I did find some things that mention the bike but that is about it. Sounds like a BS auction but what do I know. Looks like a regular 350F to me and the VIN fall in line with a 72/73 model. Does anyone know if there is a way to tell the difference?

I dunno...its never been brought up here.

Without some documentation other then his illegible sheet...I'd be tempted to call BS

I second the Jardine.  I have the same slip ons on mine and I have an extra brand new set with instructions to fit 550 or 750.

Exactly. He probably just found the Cycle World (?) test of the yosh 350f and assumed that's what he had. I've got a copy of that article around here somewhere. I suppose it could be the real deal but his description is slightly less than convincing

I highly doubt that it is as claimed. I think people should do I little homework before they make such claims or have anything to back up such claims.

And now after reading some of his replies to questions he is telling people that it is in fact a yosh bike. Unless the engine was taken out of one and droped into a completley stock bike, which I think is highly unlikely. I think thats just your run of the mill 350 and that he is misinforming buyers...

Heffay, the shape of those pipe look exactly like the ones on my bike.
I was also wondering who made them. Mine are slip fit over the header pipes.
My friend has another 350F with pipes shaped the same, but the baffles are totally different inside so who knows.

About the "Yosh" 350F, um, no. I think there would be something aside from some magazine article stating what it is. Hopefully there will be no new guy here saying how "I bought this excellent rare bike off of ebay for only 5 grand, what do you guys think of it??? It's made by Yoshimura!!!".

Thats a thought.

What we need is a picture of your baffles.

This morning I asked the seller "What documentation do you have to show, other than a page out of a magazine, that this is a true Yoshimura 350?"  Let's see if he answers it.

Edit:
Here's what I got back, and yes it was in all caps.
"I DONT HAVE ANY DOCUMENTATION I AM TELLING WHAT I WAS TOLD FROM THE OTHER OWNER. HE TOLD ME IT IS A YOSHIMURA 350."

I'll take some pics of mine today. I'll see if I can get my friend to snap a few of his too.

Mine is a hole in the center that goes into the pipe then veers off to the side. I'm imagining the inlet also veers off, but to the other side which makes the pipe a chamber of some sort. I'm not sure if there is packing in there or if there was packing. It blew an impressive pile of rust out of each pipe the first time it was started.
The friends just has a round piece of flat metal with holes drilled around the circumference stuck in about 1 inch into the pipe. This looks to be how it was made too, not home brewed silliness. I'm guessing the pipe itself is hollow.

Here are some pics:

That's what I thought. A total BS auction. I hope whoever buys the bike knows what they are getting into.

I was told that my 350F had a 836 kit installed. At least that is what the PO said. If you can't believe the PO who can you believe :)

At least that one had a sandcast head, or so his friend told him. ;D
