Show off your rattle can paint job.

I'm kind of in-between when it comes to quality versus practicality.  On the one hand I've got a sweet 30y/o bike that's built to last and deserves a good pampering, but i can't justify dropping $350-500 to have it painted--that's paint + clear only, I do the prep--bringing it to a body shop.  I paid $1000 for the bike and so far, not another soul has laid their hands upon it.  I figure I could do the job myself for about $50 in supplies including the 2-part clearcoat (SprayMax), but I've only ever rattle-canned things that ought to have been rattle-canned: lawn furniture, a rusty shed and the like.  Now, I'm looking for some inspiration.  I checked out the post that Terry put up with his amazing job on his F2.  I'm not looking to match that or even come close, just something decent.

I'd like to see how your 'rattle can job' turned out--in high-res, baby.  And if you'd kindly oblige, the brand primer + base + clear/lacquer you used.  And aside from the proverbial adage "many coats, many sandings", any other nuggets of brilliance you could offer.

While i havent got a spray can paint job (painter at work did it for a carton) i would say if you are careful then you can expect a job as good or better that Terry`s. Take your time and do things right, dont cut corners and you will get a first grade job that you can proudly say "I did it myself!"
