Hush lives here

Check this out, it's my City, Napier.
Someone took some great photos, the old cars and people dressed in 1930's gear is our "Art Deco" week when we celebrate (?) the earthquake that levelled our city in 1931.
Napier was totally rebuilt in the fashion of the day which happened to be Art Deco (sort of SPanish).

Very cool.  I'm afraid many smaller towns like that got raped in the 70's here in the 'States.  Many nice buildings torn down to make way for "modern" slab-sided monsters.
I hear NZ is one of the most beautiful places on earth.  Do you ever get "island fever"?

I've always wanted to get to NZ and have a look around and I think that you have just made my mind up Hush.
Reminds me a lot of the countryside in Tasmania and I loved visiting there.
Thanks for sharing with us.

more sheep than people i understand.
Of all God's creatures there is only one that cannot be made the slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.

Island fever, nah but I do love to be able to see the sea where ever I travel too.
That is one of the reasons I won't live in places like Hamilton or Palmerston North, too far from the sea. ;D
Thousands of bikers in the South Island this week for the "Burt Munroe Challenge" lucky buggers, one of the guys from work went down, street races, beach races, hill climbs...all to celebrate old Burt, he would be chuffed. :)

We seem to take anyone Gerhed, actually the less prospects you've got the better, we'll put you on welfare for life. ;D
It's a really nice place if you have a job, I had to send my two kids to the big cities to get decent paying employment.

Hey Spanner, Bray looks nice and green, is that your original home town as I see you are showing Nashville Tennessee as your address.

And TC lives here. Christchurch, New Zealand.

http://www.eyeballnz.com/directory/south-island/christchurch

For all it's faults I really, really like this city. The last picture sums it up for me. There's lots of walking tracks out of the city where a man can get good exercise with his trusty dog and chill out with nature. And there's lots of country roads in the hills that are just right for a CB750.
