That's a great idea Matt. You can send to my email, jbottolfson@valyousat.net any cards or messages you'd like to Bre. I will open a new file on my computer to save them, I guarantee she will get them. Just talked to my wife, Bre had another good day, no big breakthroughs or anything, but doing well. My best riding buddy and his wife had me over for dinner tonight, Kirstina told them they'd have to babysit me while she is gone, they are doing a good job!

Great Jay! Soon as I can get my Dad here (hopefully today) and can get my head to clear a bit, there will be Ecards from us (Prayers ALWAYS) That's GREAT news about Bre too! Always like to hear that she's progressing (God's Work) Jay, we ALL need some babysitting once in a while and that's really cool that YOU have that couple for you all. When this is all done and Bre is back in her form, You and Kirstina need some time ALONE to be just that ALONE. Over the years, Brenda and I have needed those Just Us Alone Times, but seldom ever had the resources to Have those times and it sure helps to keep your sanity. When you need to be there for a family member, you do what you have to do and for as long as you need to do it. Then, when the crisis is over, you have to get back to the regular schedule and it helps, it you can have a sort of TRANSITION STAGE (The Alone Time I was talking about) to do that. Looking forward to hearing about more progress Jay.

Got to get ready to go to the hospital to see if my Dad is being released today or if it is Tomorrow, AGAIN. Our Prayers go out for ALL of you.

                                Take care, Bill ;)

Guys, Thanks for wanting to send cards and stuff, but I really hesitate to send that kind of info over the web.

Completely understood, Jay. Absolutely.

Been a little while since I've seen or heard anything about Bre. Surely, no news is good news.

Oops, I just noticed that I had been notified on the 17th of the latest word and did not pass it on. ::) Sorry bout' that. :-[ It's about the same as it's been for a while now, but I will tell it anyway cause, all news is good news.

"Bre is still making slow progress. She has been very tired lately, which slows down her therapy somewhat. Her Doctors have put in a smaller reach tube, which forces her to breathe partially through her nose and mouth, and she goes for extended periods with it capped off totally, so the day probably isn't too far off when she has it out. The biggest bump in the road lately has been her feet. Her muscles have contracted and her feet are twisted badly. They have put some botox in her muscles to hopefully relax them, but they have also been talking about surgery to both feet if that isn't enough. I hope it doesn't come to that, but we trust the staff here totally. That's about it for now, I'll update again when there is more news."  Like I said, that was on the 17th of Sept and I suppose things are still going along at what probably seems like a "Snail's Pace".

Prayers are still coming from all, I'm sure, for Bre and your entire family Jay.  ;)

Hey Tim. I have no problem with trying to keep the updates coming, if Jay doesn't have time to do it. We need to keep them in our Prayers and thoughts. They are going through so much and I try to keep you all up to date, if needed. Sometimes I slip up, like this time and get a little behind on that though. :-[ We've sure got a great bunch of folks that lift up those in need. 8) ;)

Thanks Bill.

Bre and her family are still on my mind and was just wondering about her. Forward progress no matter how frustratingly slow is still encouraging.

Hey all, here is another update from Jay, about Bre:

(remember, this is just as I got it)

"The doctors in Chicago want to implant a medication pump in Bre's abdomen to medicate her spine directly with Baclofin, a drug to decrease her muscle rigidity. She had a trial yesterday, which made a difference, so we will go ahead with it. After that, probably the surgery to her feet. She has been pretty alert, and has even said a couple of words, but not at all consistantly. So I guess progress remains, but very very slow."

Sure wish I could speed this up for ALL of them! :( Such pain, waiting as things move slowly along. At least there is some progress, I just feel so badly about them being all drawn out over this and, of course the fact that Bre's life is in such shape as this too! :( Patience is a word that some us have a time with, isn't it?

Prayers for you all,  Bill ;)

Bill, thanks again for staying on this.

Jay I am still pulling for your Little girl. I can only imagine the difficulty to remain vigilant over time but without question there is no other choice. Thankfully there is progress; I hope that progress sustains you and your family as you help Bre see this through.

God bless you and yours.

Thanks, but it's the least I could do is to try to keep this thread out where we can keep it in our minds and our hearts. And as far as keeping the updates posted, I may not be able to do much, but I CAN do that. ;)

Thanks again everyone for your support. Not much new since the last update Bill was kind enough to share. We really do feel the medicine pump will do a lot to help her to move forward. We have read a lot, and watched some videos about it. I was supposed to get together with some of you the last time I was in Chicago, but due to work I had to cut my visit to just 2 nights, and I felt that I had to spend maximum time with Bre. Sorry, but I'm sure you guys understand. On a positive note, my parents went to spend some time with Bre so that my wife could come home and see me, and take care of some things back here. As luck would have it, it rained enough to put me out of harvest for a couple days while she is here, so I sure didn't mind. That's about it fore now, you can be sure we will keep on keepin' on.  :)

And we will keep on hoping and praying. God will never put you in a situation you can't overcome, even though it may seem impossible sometimes. Just remember we are right here with you.

Jay, as long as I have access to the updates on Bre's progress, I'll continue to try to get the info passed on to here, ASAP. I figure that me doing that, should help take a little bit off of your mind so you can focus where you are needed.

That is so true, what Aaron posted. At times, it seems like God expects more out of us than we are capable of giving. But, fact is, when things get tough, we find out that we CAN do (and endure) more that we ever thought possible.

You all take care and know that the Prayers are forever coming!

Sounds fitting fuzzy. 8)  When we've got someone like Bre on our mind, they just sort of pop up don't they? I'd say that would be the "Holy Spirit" working. I've had moments like that myself. Makes you stand up and take notice.

Not much new guys, but yesterday when I talked to her on Kirstina's cell phone I asked her to make a sound, any sound for me, she just went Ahhhhhh...... twice, like she was singing, something she likes to do. Her voice was clear as a bell, I told her Honey, that's the sweetest thing I ve ever heard. First time she has vocalized without being upset, uncomfortable, etc. You know, it's funny, she has been closer to her mom than me, not really a Daddy's girl, but most of her "firsts" through this thing has been with me, even over the phone. I sure love that little girl! ;D ;D ;D
