Wow Jay...I sure feel like an ass. This has been going on all summer and I am just now reading it.I have bad habits with reading posts here and for some reason ,I just felt compfortable staying home today and scouring through the forum.I was sorry to hear about your daughter and then very relieved to hear she is coming along.I lost 4 people that were very dear to me last year and can honestly understand your pain.I remember years ago how I felt when I got a call telling me that my ex wife and young daughter had been in an auto accident and that my daughter was cut up pretty bad. I don't have to tell you how many traffic laws I broke that day beating feet to that hospital about 30 miles away.Anyhow...real glad to hear she is recovering and while I am another of the not praying kinda guys here...count me in for well wishes to you and your family.

Thanks Mark, She will be there Wed. I'm excited and scared at the same time. It's going to be very hard, I'll only be there a few days, then leave my girls (my wife and daughter) behind. I'm a farmer and harvest is right around the corner, I have to get it done. No choice. We will see what happens. Bre does continue to progress very slowly, hopefully faster in Chicago.

Hang in there brother, I look for your progress reports every time I get on the SOHC site.
Best wishes in Chicago,
Ben

I just flew home from Chicago this morning, Bre is doing very well there. Had a very good experiance yesterday, the speech therapist had her hit a big button with her wrist to indicate "Yes", and nothing for "No". Once she got the hang of it, the therapist and I asked her 30, maybe 40 questions, she got every one right. The one I really can't figure out is how she knew it was September. No one to my knowledge has ever told her that, she had to have picked it up from us talking in her room at some point. She still has a long, long way to go to get her body moving as it should, but by the Lord God, her mind is there. I already miss my girls, but I'm a pretty happy guy at this point.

Jay that is absolutely awesome news!!! The pathways will continue to re-form and progress will continue. As low as you must have been for quite a while there it is great to hear that you guys are starting to hit some of the highs more and more. And to have her PROVE that she is getting better with a test like that must have been one of the best feelings for you.

Hang in there, you guys still have a ways to go but atleast she is hitting those milestones along the way! She must be an incredibly tough girl.

Glad to hear the suns starting to shine again mate.
As some of the others have said, once the ball starts rolling it keeps rolling.
Sounds like bre is starting to get back to her old self, in small steps but starting to get there all the same.
So glad  to hear that the news is good, stick with it mate.
Faith is a little trusted commodity these days but still a powerful one, keep at it mate
Cheers

I kept thinking about how you said that she knew it is September, and I was reminded that your wife knew that Bre could hear her reading stories to her.

Jay, I hope you are getting your crops in. You do sowing and the reaping and the Lord will do the healing!

Jay, I'm SO proud for Bre and you all! The Lord can do ALL things, we just have to be patient (not that easy sometimes, is it). You'll have to excuse me for being of just a few words at this moment, it's been a very trying time the last few days. Sorry.

Guys, Thanks for wanting to send cards and stuff, but I really hesitate to send that kind of info over the web. Not trying to dis anyone, I'm sure you will understand. I'd like you all to know this though- my wife and I are VERY gratefull for all the support and prayers here. You can bet your last dollar that Bre will read all this soon, and as soon as she is able, you will hear from Bre herself. Gotta run, thanks again.

Hey Jay,

That'll be a great day when we get a note from the kid herself. I'm looking forward to hearing from her.

All best,
Ben

That would be the Ultimate Response, a response straight from Bre herself. 8) ;) Myself, I'm SO looking forward to that! :)  Still Praying Jay. ;)

That's a great idea Matt. You can send to my email, jbottolfson@valyousat.net any cards or messages you'd like to Bre. I will open a new file on my computer to save them, I guarantee she will get them. Just talked to my wife, Bre had another good day, no big breakthroughs or anything, but doing well. My best riding buddy and his wife had me over for dinner tonight, Kirstina told them they'd have to babysit me while she is gone, they are doing a good job!

Jay.. Glad to hear your daughter is making great progress. Reading through this thread with my 4 year old daughter playing in the back ground brought tears to my eays..

I also noticed your location. Im in KC now but I grew up in westfield (akron) Iowa and most of my family still lives in Sioux City. If I ride the CB home next spring I will hit you up.

I wish you and your family the best of luck in this tough time.
