Not much new guys, but yesterday when I talked to her on Kirstina's cell phone I asked her to make a sound, any sound for me, she just went Ahhhhhh...... twice, like she was singing, something she likes to do. Her voice was clear as a bell, I told her Honey, that's the sweetest thing I ve ever heard. First time she has vocalized without being upset, uncomfortable, etc. You know, it's funny, she has been closer to her mom than me, not really a Daddy's girl, but most of her "firsts" through this thing has been with me, even over the phone. I sure love that little girl! ;D ;D ;D

Man, that brings tears to one's eyes. Not me though 'cause I'm a manly man. ::)

Seriously Jay, that's such great news and my heart is in my throat just reading your post. Those little steps aren't really so little are they?

I'm not a prayer but I been praying for you man. Don't care who it is, no little girl/boy deserves to go through these things. I am glad to hear your daughter is recovering Jay. If anything ever happened to my little peanut I'd be a lost man.

Gonna give this one a "gentle bump" to keep it up here where folks can be reminded that we need to keep the support in Prayers and Thoughts going to Jay and his family, for his daughter Bre. Mark seems to be coming around and Bre could be just around the corner. Let's don't ease up now. ;)

Hi everybody. Haven't got harvest done yet, the weather here hasn't cooperated at all. Seems like two steps forward and one step back. Oh well, I've been through this before, it will get done eventually. I made a mad dash to Chi and back for Bre's surgery at the end of last week, they installed that medicine pump.  It will be a while for recovery, I sure hope it helps.
There won't be any easing up here, beleive me, but man this thing is getting long and exhausting. Not complaining mind you, but that's just the way it is. I'm looking forward to the day that we can be a family again, under one roof.
Thanks again everone for your continuing support. Gotta run.

Here's another update that I just got notified about. Some of it is already known and remember, I'm putting it out just as I got it (in their words). ;)

Bre had surgery last week to insert the Baclofin pump. The surgery went well. There will be a recovery period with out much therapy but there seem to be differences already. Her muscles are a bit looser, which was the goal. In the coming days, the dosage will be adjusted to suit her, and more therapy can start as time goes on. She came back to RIC yesterday and seems much more comfortable in familiar surroundings.

Excuse my ignorance Bill (or whoever can answer the question) but what is RIC? Does that mean she changed hospitals (hopefully closer to home) or just units....I'm not familiar with RIC acronym.

Thanks,
Dennis

Jay mentioned she was in Chicago so I'm guessing RIC is the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Could be wrong though. :-\
