Jay mentioned she was in Chicago so I'm guessing RIC is the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Could be wrong though. :-\

Bob, I think you are right on that. I wasn't really thinking when I posted that. I went back through the thread and found that it was mentioned.

Alright, thanks for clearing that up....wishful thinking I guess that she would be moved closer to lessen the load on Jay and fam. Oh well, atleast it sounds like the good news and progress is still coming.

Well folks, got an update about Bre. Here it is, just as I got it:

Breanna is doing better from surgery it is three weeks out form surgery now and she is healing beautifully. she needed to be two weeks flat on her back after surgery and could not have much for therapys but now she can be up a little more and therapys are progressing again and I can see a difference with the bacolfin pump. Example: her neck use to be stiff and in one position to the left and now she can move it side to side while in bed. her limbs are also becoming more relaxed witch will help her move forward with Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy. she is very alert and knows what is going on around her but she is not able to move her arms or fingers yet. Her right leg she can move but not her left yet. She is starting to find he vocal cords and uses them slightly with a sound of aaaa. With the trak of course this is a little harder to use your vocal cords. We are still praying for a miracle may God bless her with one.

So, there it is, she is till progressing slowly (but, as we all no , any progress is better than none at all) We're still praying for you all.  ;)

Thanks Bill for the update. I have been thinking of Bre just today. Nobody, but especially a child, should be faced with this sort of thing. It seems to me she is showing a fair amount of courage through this struggle. Jay too!

Glad to be able to do it! It's a small effort for such a serious situation.

Thinking of ya down here in the lower Pacific to young Bre, gain strength and encouragement from our international community.
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Medic, here's the latest that I have (a repost of the last one I made), just for you (and anyone else who might have missed the last one:

Breanna is doing better from surgery it is three weeks out form surgery now and she is healing beautifully. she needed to be two weeks flat on her back after surgery and could not have much for therapys but now she can be up a little more and therapys are progressing again and I can see a difference with the bacolfin pump. With the trak of course this is a little harder to use your vocal cords. We are still praying for a miracle may God bless her with one.

I posted that on the 7th and that's the latest I have. I'm sure that they have been quite preoccupied and understandably so. ;)

Haven't heard anything in a while, so I'm upping my Prayers. I've got to believe that there is still progress, even if it's till slow. I know th feeling of being involved with a "Serious Situation (medically)" with your own child and, as some of you know, it's not a "cakewalk". I just have very strong feelings on things like this. I wish I could take some of the stress off of Jay and his wife. :(

+1 on that Bill. Every time I think of a kid going through such a hardship it gets to me. The only plus maybe to come from anything so taxing of ones ability to endure, is that the experience sharpens quite well life's priorities. Still I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

My prayers Bre and family.
