Thanks for the update Jay. Mental exercise and learning have to help the mind and body just like physical exercising, which I unfortunately don't do very much of.
Best wishes for continued progress!

Jay, what Sam said +1! 8) We DO get a bit impatient when it comes to the healing process, but ANY kind of progress is good and helps keep the hope factor up.

Don't beat yourself up Bill! It may not be the highest thread on the pages but it is definitely one of the most important. Bre is never far from my thoughts (and I am sure most of you all as well).

My thoughts are with you and your daughter mate, Breanna deserves a better shake of the dice than this, hope her improvement continues.
I've got two grown up children and like any father I'd do anything for them.....Hush.

Hi Guys, Sorry no updates lately, there's just not much to report. Bre had some surgery on her feet and legs a few weeks ago, that has really hindered therapies. Soon she will be able to get into the swing of things again. We are still trying hard, keeping the faith and doing everything in our power. We'll never give up, but after almost 9 months, man this is getting tiring. To me, one of the hardest parts of this whole ordeal is the not knowing, not knowing when or if she will get better, how much better she will get, etc etc etc....... Sorry, I guess I'm crying in my beer a bit. Again, I want you to know how much your support means.

Hang in there Jay. ;)  It CAN be a very tiring time that seems like forever. I can tell you from my own experience. From the 1st seizures that our Daughter Karla had, starting at about 11months old until she had brain surgery at the age of 18yrs old, we thought that she would never be able to have ANY sort of a "normal" life. There is no telling just exactly how many seizures that she had over all that time. I DO remember that there were some weeks that she might have as many as 60 or more and we really had no idea if there would ever be a day that we could relax and not be concerned about then the next one would come  and then, after (at least) 10yrs of those seizures, we were told that, during a seizure, if the brain didn't get enough blood flow that brain sells would die and I can tell you that that scared us to death. Now, here we are,she had had the surgery, and she might not be classified as "normal", but she IS able to have somewhat a life of her own. She went toxic on Tegretol in the 11th grade and we were told that her electrolyte levels in her brain, dropped and she could have gone to sleep and not woke up. :(  I can tell you that when my Wife and I look back at those times, we are so thankful for having gotten through those times. Yes, the "Not knowing when, where how much and such" is definitely trying. :-\

I feel SO MUCH for Bre, Kirstina and you for having this to deal with. If only I could take (at least) SOME of this load for you all. :(

Please don't lose faith Jay. Progress is usually slow and hard fought, but I think one has to keep on fighting.
There's a lot of us here concerned and rooting for Bre's recovery. I know there'll be more positive reports to share in the future.
All best brother!

The hardest part is in wishing there was more you could do (personal experience, there...).
God is good, Jay, and knows His stuff! Keep with Him: He'll tell you what to do next (more experience, there...).  ;)

Lifting you guys up.  :)

Exactly right Bob...and even if you are Jay you are entitled to let it out man. Crying is cathartic. But just don't let it take hold of you for too long as you will need to be strong for Bre and the rest of the family. If you do need to vent that is exactly why we are all here..don't be afraid to lean on us.

Hey Jay,

It's great to hear from you.  I'm sure hearing "be patient" is not fun at this point but more progress is coming.  I am (as I'm sure others are) honored that you'd share with us as your brethren.  We're with you man.

Like Stormer said, Jay: my poor wife has Type I diabetes (35+ years), and since 1990 has undergone over 12 operations, twice as many hospital stays, and has far more bad days than good. All of her doctors know us on a name & face basis (last count: 18 doctors). For a while, I thought that the right thing to do was to spend all my energy in helping her: after some experience, it turns out she needs it the other way. As I'm getting stronger myself, she is also more hopeful (I had a cancer, too).

So, keep yourself together, then help her. That seems to be the stronger approach in the long term.

Just my 2 cents.  :)

As always Jay, Prayers are flowing nonstop! Lots of folks here are keeping the prayers going and passing the word on to others. Keep the Faith Jay, as Sam and countless others have said (and I'm sure you and Kirstina know), any improvement is good news. ;)

I've been away for a few days guys. Took my wife for a couple of days snowmobiling before planting season starts. You just have to get away from it all once in a while. Like Sam said, it's slow but Bre is doing good. We bought a new car for Kirstina a month ago, she drives 140 miles a day, and I told Bre today if she can work hard enough to get her license and drive it she can have it, I'd buy Mom another. I got a big smile out of that. A little incentive never hurts. ;) Anyway, slow but sure, wish I could report more.
