full face is the only way i'll let myself get on a motorcycle.  i've already bounced my face off the asphalt once and don't need any more proof than that.  while i can appreciate the feeling of no helmet or open face, i personally think the risk is too great not to have the protection.  plastic is cheap...brain damage is forever.  and it's tough to get chicks if you drool.

Yeah, I've scratched up the chinbar and faceshield of my full-face on I-95, and I'd never risk doing that again without a full-face.

I promised the wife I would wear a full face so I can be in an open coffin.

Full face, every time, no exception.  It amazes me that people choose fullface a majority of the time(the polll is at about 60% at this posting) yet you mostly(not in this thread)only hear that "helmet laws suck".

I wear a school-bus-yellow Nolan modular.  Everytime.  Not only does it protect my head, it REALLY helps other people see me.

BUT, helmet laws suck.  Yeah, I'm one of those libertarian types.  Free will and all that.  My choice?  Helmet.  Your choice?  YOUR choice.

I have a full face modular.  It's really nice, being able to flip it up to talk, breathe, etc...  I leave the visor open a lot of the time and wear sunglasses for the wind- I like some of the wind on my face- just not in my eyes.

Doing work around the hospital and having my PIC being an xray tech, I see too many motorcycle accidents where there was just nothing the rider could do- AND they weren't riding like an ass.  My PIC, in fact, was in one of those accidents and almost lost her left leg- totally wiped her 3/4 helmet and leather jacket.  Bad things happen, and I just want to put odds in my favor as much as I can.

It's hard to believe that I bought my Nolan N100E flip front almost 18 months ago now, it's been fantastic in cold/wet weather, or when riding rally, really, fast. It's quite, it looks good, and I can just flip the front when I pay for my gas, or take my glasses off, or drink something.

I've just finished installing a "Bike 2 Bike" communicator in it (no cutting or drilling required, just some stick on velcro pads) so that tomorrow I can communicate with my mate who I'll be doing a 260 mile bike ride with, me on my bike, and him on his.

I know it's all a bit "soft", but after all, I'm riding my BMW K1100LT, and he's on his new BMW R1200GS, so it's not like I'll be giving classic Honda riders a bad name, ha ha! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Cycle Guide ran an article in the early 70's...all I remember is this;

"if you have a 10 dollar head put it in a 10 dollar helmet..."

Or something close to that

mine was free.  I still protect it though, cuz i know i'm not getting another one for the same price, and even if you go to south america for the plastic surgery a new face is pricey.
