Got a 77' CB750K Exhaust??
« on: June 19, 2008, 11:45:31 AM »
Hey there,

I believe I got my carbs right for the first time since I have rebuilt my bike (taking two years).  Now the last thing to get to make it run correctly is an exhaust.  Mine is a custom (booger) exhaust and is not in the greatest shape, and it gets in the way of the kickstand (set up with a couple of embarassing springs to keep it off the ground, and yet still drags the ground on hard left turns).  When I was setting the timing, I got it wrong at first and a nasty backfire blew a hole in the rusty tubular spectacles, now it's really loud and messes with the right amount of backpressure.  Anyway, I really need an exhaust but do not have the $350.00 to buy an exhaust off e-bay.  Can anyone help?  I will buy it from you, or if you are so generous I can just pay shipping.  But I am not asking for hand-outs, just a help-out.  So if you have an exhaust, I would be happy to help make some room for you in your garage.  Again, I will purchase them, and of course take donations, lol.  Take care and thank you for reading this.  I HAVE MANY PARTS I CAN TRADE IF YOU NEED THEM ALSO, JUST ASK.

Joe

Sorry, I gotta ask the question, what are considered the headpipes?  If you are talking about the pipes straight out of the cylinders, then they are flanged at the end.  If you are talking about the rest of the piping, it's four into two.  Do you mean the diameter?  By the way, thank you so much for responding.  When you say the pipes are nasty, what does that mean?  I can paint whatever, as long as it is surface rust or bad chrome, but I have pipes right now with too much rust, and that is what I am trying to remedy.

Well I have a set of nasty pipes that are complete.

Kinda rusted on the outside (surface)

They were part of a 4-2 system with the turned out tips....

I'll dig them out and take pictures.

I could use that exhaust, but only if joeyboy doesn't need it.

Hey There, pictures would be great.  However at this point, as long as they can be painted and are structurally sound, I'm in.  I'll look for your post tomorrow.  I can't tell you how much I appriciate you taking the time to respond and help out.  If you ever need anything, let me know, and if I can help, I am all yours.  Take care and thanks again.
