primary chain size

is it possible to make your own set of primary chains?

not likely, but depends on your skills i suspect, but for a :"normal shade tree mechanic": i would not attempt this

i just measured it and it's 3/8" pitch with a 0.25" diameter roller that's .2" wide. I'm finding ball park chains that are +/- 0.05" difference in the roller's diameter or width. it would be almost a $50 savings but yeah, it's just safe to roll with OEM stuff.
