...And got the bike running today. I have been motivationally challenged(read lazy), but with gas going crazy, as well as the itch to ride, I finally got off my butt and did it. Part of it was that I had gone through the carbs twice and still missed something. So I was a bit frustrated. So tomorrow, insurance. Wednesday,DMV and state inspection. Thursday, long ride. Friday, long ride. Saturday, ride to work. The long way.
I can't believe it's been 5 years. But that's what the inspection sticker says. It had been parked almost a year, and money was tight. It needed tires. I was just about to be able to afford them when I lost my job. I hadn't worked until a few weeks ago, and it's just part time. I got the tires about 2 years ago, but had to stop working on it because of an accident my son had. Luckily, He's okay now. And I married well, so I have been able to survive without working. I have kept busy, what with taking care of son, Mother and Mother-in-law. It's actually been handy that I was available. I had been volunteering at a non-profit, so I was able to write off the mileage. They recently hired me part time to help with fund raising. I have mentioned it in another thread:
www.alexandriaseaport.org And now I'm riding again. I'm off to do final reassembly(airbox, side covers, points cover) before bedtime.
