Front fork/fender brace
« on: June 26, 2008, 08:03:54 AM »
I'm looking for the part # for the fork brace (heavy steal bracket/brace) that goes between the forks and under the front fender. If anyone knows the part name or #, i would be grateful.  I don't have one on my bike and i have read things about ppl having problems without it and some people don't.

also is this consider your tech section or am i posting in the wrong section

Should be in another section as this is for Tricks and Tips.....

I dunno that they have a part number for that brace...its part of the fender Part number.

Course you just drill them off if you want no front fender.

Parts wanted might be the section for this but one of our excellent mods will prolly move it.

Generally this section is for sharing tips and tricks with others, generally tech questions get posted in the SOHC/4 Bikes section.

I don't think the fender bracket is available as a separate part number.  You could eBay a junk fender of the appropriate year for your forks and drill the rivets out to get the brace, or if you're using an early 750 setup, take a look here:

Found out they sell fork braces. teleflex fork brace or a tarozzi fork brace.  Everything i've read about these is they are great.

Do they have one for the K0 to K2 models? I think you'll find that because the tops of the fork legs are lower than the top of the tire, conventional fork braces won't work. I doubt that teleflex and tarozzi have a brace for these bikes. I know SuperBrace never did. You could be looking at later models?

That's why we use the honda fender brace or build one. Which BTW to those involved in the build-a-brace, wow! I've never seen that design and I thought I'd seen it all. Great work.

That's interesting! Post a link or picture if you get the chance. Sounds like a...fender brace.

I'm going to try a ZL900 steel fender on my Phaedrus project, (K2 "custom") its fairly substantial but short. I think Kaw may have used it to double as a fork brace on the ZL. It's for an 18" wheel, and I have downsized the wheel on my project.

I'll also use a custom made tweak bar right under the triple clamps. I'll be posting a pic of it this weekend.
