looking for evidence that anyone has used a different tank universal, sportster or something on a 1980 cb650....need a new tank and prices are bonkers on egay right now.

The 81 tank is the same BUT the petcock bung. Get the petcock with it and you can adapt the fuel line. A couple guys have put on
sporster peanut tanks.
