Topic: Cracked stand pipe fix

Have a fix for hair line crack in stand pipe. I bought a 3/16 x .014 brass tube at the Hobby store and cut it to make a sleeve. Cost: $1.50. I then used J-B Weld at top and bottom to seal it. No more leak.

Excellent idea! I have also had luck with shrink fit tubing.

I tried to find that tube at my local ACE hardware and couldn't.  I looked at the JB Weld tube and it says it works for gas tank repair.  So i said "what the hell" and just used some on the tube itself.  I didn't use the quick JB Weld,  I used the old school full strength stuff.  I will bolt it back up tomorrow and see how it does.

I soldered mine - 3 of 4 were cracked. One still pisses a tiny bit. May go back and resolder or try that sleeve deal.
