I am getting married in September and cant seem to find gifts for my Groomsmen. My fiancee wants me to stay within $50.00 per gift (approx amount she spent on the maids, and of course she is done already).
I have looked at all the traditional gifts and nothing seems to hit.
I would like to have the gift be useful. I have received everything from flasks, swords and mugs, but the most useful thing I received was a multi tool.I use this thing every week and each time remember where I got it.

The person who gave me the mulit tool is in my wedding so If I gave the same thing, I would hear it.

Any ideas??

i gave swiss army knives, the camper model to my groomsmen. it was around 30 bucks back in 99'

If they like classic bikes get them a WALNECKS subsrip..

Car guys. Hot Rod or Street Rodder..

if they think OCC is cool, tell them the wedding is a week later than it is..

Since I'm not married, nor will I be anytime in the future, and I've only been to one wedding in my life and that was with a pair of hippies, I have to ask: what's the tradition in the groom having to buy his groomsmen gifts? And furthermore, what's a wedding registry?

I got my groomsmen razor scooters and we got drunk and raced down my street late into the night.

If you all share the same music tastes, you could get a box set of DVDs for some cool band. Can't go wrong with Led Zeppelin if you ask me. If you don't share the same tastes, get a different set for each.

I'd customize; multi-tool to one or 2, diecast model of one guy's dream Indian Chief, box set of Franks greatest for the Frank Sinatra wannabe, a bank of carbs for a CB400F, and so on.

(BTW- I have to assume my invitation got lost in the mail)

You need to get the men things they wouldn't buy for themselves, and this goes hand in hand with an item that many women in the crowd will roll their eyes at...

The coolest one I got was a Sub to Home Shop Machinist, which can be very hard to find on a newstand.. Think I got 2 yyears worth, thanx Joe &Shawna..

Not the most technical pertinent stuff for me but enjoyable to read and usually a good trick or 3 in it...

excellent mag for a weekend warrior or beginning machine tool owner lika a certain member here I wont name.. but goes under a 4 digit handle that is the size of one of his SOHCs...

I got a TILLEY one-night-stand-bag, from my bro-in-law in 76.. still using that thing now...

Man I woulda paid 80 bux or more for a Tilley hat at bonneville, DONT GO THERE expecting to find a decent hat..

.. a half afternoon 2 of us will never get back..

They scrunch up 7 are perfect to take on a bike..

One of the coolest gifts I got was from my brother at his wedding. It was a front pocket wallet with money clip attached. Quite useful.

First of all, Tom - sorry to hear about your other two toes...

Secondly, love the Oliver avatar! Brings back memories.

As long as your buddies are cool*, you can get them each something unique to them. Season 1 of Seinfeld / Season 812 of The Simpsons, etc. Music's also a great idea. Something they'll hang onto and enjoy, not just let collect dust.

*If you've had groomsmen forced on you (future brothers-in-law, etc.) it might be safer to get them all the same thing. That way you don't have to listen to years of complaining about how somebody else got a better gift, blah, blah, blah...

BTW, are we too late to talk you out of the whole thing in the first place? $:-\$
