Replace. Epoxy isn't gonna do it this time. Welding is out too, just in case you need that one spelled out for you.  :D

Check out Razor's thread on how to mount the Dyna coils... z1 has them way cheaper than our oe coils, too.

You're cheap like me Marti, I like that in you. ;D
Maybe silicone snot it, probably just the outer casing is split from some animal over tightening it.
I wonder if others who experience wet weather troubles should check their coils?

Yeah I read somewhere about others splitting them apart to fix something...
Don't remember right now, maybe upgrading the plugs for aftermarket wires or...
Ahh hell just get new ones, and then they will look double sharp, and then they will look good, and then they will look like new, and then they will perform like new, and then..
No more and then!?!

And then? ;D ;D

Hell while your in thee might as well clean it up a bit and do the plug upgrade for some accell wires, or just buy a new one and wires.

what kind of welder did you use when you welded the chain Marti? and at what settings?

I got a mig welder,a pretty big one..(will take a picture of it tomorrow,2 lazy to walk to the shop right now ;D ;D )
I  just took a piece of the chain and started welding a link to see how good it would "burn" in etc. set the welder pretty high for a good penetration and tested 2 links welded together under my shop press first,it didn't break the weld but buckled the links itself....it's 70 grade chain...

AND THEN...!!!!!!   ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'm tempted to steal your idea there.
I have a cb650 that with where the rear disk brake caliper wants to sit, it blocks the shocks.
Either that or figure out how to set up some leaf spring setup or something.

Looks good though.

Honda dealers in NZ tell me there are some rear shocks on the market that are "skinnies" and they let you run stuff like rear disc brakes, HAGON is one maker.

I just spent over an hour reading this entire project, thanks for all the post. I am thinking about making my 650c into a soft tail chopper... I like welding too  ;D . The chain rear support is awesome, great job! Engine tear down was impressive and very informing. Keep us posted.
