getting ready to put cb650c carbs on a cb550
« on: June 30, 2008, 12:43:02 AM »
starting to rebuild a set of 650 carbs from a 1980 cb650c to go on my 1974 cb550. anyone have any experience with this? what should my jets be? i am running 4into1 with baffle and pods. i would love to get the jets and needle setting right the first time out. anything else i should know? i am fairly new to carbs. but i am looking forward to the fuel accelerators. any help would be great.

thanks,
will

While other than the carb spacing which I am unsure of, don't remember when the 650 changed... It should be pretty straght forward. But, as someone that has rebuilt both the old Kehnin 550 carbs, and also the newer 650 carbs I have to wonder why you'd prefer to have the significantly more complex 650 carbs?

Just the accellerator pump? (which doesn't work on half of the 650 carbs I've seen)  :P

well, the pump does seems attractive. but i am hoping for a little better performance and  hopefully some reliabilty. my 550 carbs have been really sketchy.
