Ok, I have a kid's trike that the pedal has fallen off. It's held on with a pretty common part, a spring washer that you push on the shaft whereupon the internal fingers get bent outwards, so the thing won't slide off. This has rusted off. I looked at Home Depot, no luck. I'm hampered in searching for it because I don't know the official name for it, and google doesn't help much with any name I've made up...
Anyone here who knows what these things are called, or even where I can find them?

Try MEMORY LANE bICYCLES, OR TRY SEARCHING TRIKE PEDAL END CAPS OR CLIPS

Is it the type that looks like a little hat? Home Depot should carry something that will work for you, but you'll have to look in the specialty drawers, and not hanging on the shelves. I'm 99% sure I've seen them there.

I just built a lil' pedal tractor a week ago and had to pound some of them on to hold the pedals on.

Bunghole, that kid from deliverance in your avatar lives about an hour from me. My friends I ride with from the Ducati shop are planning a ride up to where he works one day.

Nahh, you just know you live in Georgia.

You know you're a redneck when you have 18 vehicles in the yard and 6 of them run, you use the trunk of one as a cooler, some are considered dry storage, you prioritize what needs to be dry vs what can go in ones without windows, you covet rusted out shells of cars from the 30's through 70's you see in fields, you've thought out all the possible car/motorcyle/power tool engine swap possibilities, I could go on...

I wish I had a yard big enough to be a redneck. I live in So Cal which means I paid way too near a million dollars for a postage stamp of dirt with a house that if I don't close the windows and wear earplugs, I can hear the neighbors making genetic combinations.

I love Georgia. I used to go fishing with my uncle on the Chattahoochee river near Columbus. We'd catch big ass catfish. Delicious! He still lives in Columbus and is in his mid 80's and grows pot on the back porch of the assisted living facility where he lives. Ex Green Beret Colonel that served in Vietnam.

He's my hero. I tried to grow pot in a growbox out here in Cal (I have a prescription so don't go rattin' me out to the feds ya bastards!) but I had no luck.

Try McMaster-Carr and look for Style B Pushnut or if that isn't the right part, you can use a Retaining Washers.

H. Paulin has them, and their place is about 1 km away from here.
If anyone in Toronto needs any kind of bolt or fastener, this is a brilliant place. There's a service desk and so far I've had no trouble buying stuff. If you shop at Home Depot Canada, you know their stuff, they sell packaged screws etc as "Papco". For what you pay for a blister pack of 10 screws at HD, you can probably get a box of 100 at the factory. Close to Danforth and Warden.

As soon as I read your description Bodi, I googled "star washer". That's what they're known as down here.... the very first result site confirmed it...!
