Tarozzi rearsets on the million $ CB.........
« on: July 01, 2008, 06:20:28 PM »
Well....they bolted right on.....AFTER I FIRED UP THE LATHE. ;) They are much better than the Raask's in terms of comfort and quality. Freak'n Italians have to use stupid 7mm X 1.00 hardware....that's cam sprocket stuff. ::)

One more for the bracket I had to make for the left because of stupid engineering.

A fine concept that took some real thought (on my part) ::). Those pegs rotate with the levers too. Sounds weird but it does work.

How the F did you get a set for the F ??? ???  Looks damn nice Mike. Those Tarozzi's are nice pieces with good hardware and I've got a nice set for a K bike if I ever get around to getting a frame to build on. In the meantime I just stare at 'em  ;)

You'll get used to those quick and when ever you get on a friends bike with stock pegs you'll think "how the hell did I ever corner with these things?" ;) ;D ;D
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

I'll tell you Sean they are a lot more reasonable (in terms of comfort) then the Raask's I had on for 16 years or so. The basic pieces are better made too but take some thought for a good, secure bracket on the left (as well as spacers).

Now you've got no excuse but to get out and ride that thing. The shiny kickstand return spring in your pick about made me hurl. GET SOME DIRT ON THAT MONSTER >:( ;) :D :D :D

A moniker attached to my bike by a parts person at a shop I've dealt with for over 25 years. I've owned the bike for 32 years and it's gotten a lot of personalized attention on my part if you know what I mean. ;)

Thanks! Forget it....it isn't happening. That goes for Raask's too. I was wondering if a 550 lever would clear. ???

I'm jealous!

What about bending the kick lever?  Too ghetto?  Or if you know someone with a CNC, you could do some cool offset aluminum lever.  Not sure if aluminum is acceptable for kicking though.

Did or do you need the rear peg mounts for those or other brands of rearsets?  I'm thinking about cutting those triangles off for my build, but I need to think through as far as future rearsets and/or exhaust mounts.

I recently received my Tarozzi rearsets. Ordered the ones with the rubber pegs and shifters.

Have not had time to even mock them up ::)  They look sturdy.

Oh so pretty!

If you could have a kickstarter machined to match, it would really look nice!

mike- if you don't figure it out sooner, i'll be installing a set on a '73 K soon, and will try a cb550F kickstart. if you can find one, give it a try. it was designed to clear the stock header which rode high along the frame for better cornering clearance. it comes out an extra inch at least.

by the way, am i understanding right here? the levers don't pivot independent of the footpegs? the only thing holding up the custom rearsets i designed is figuring out how to eliminate this problem. i ripped mine from an old italian design (paton), but i welded the lever assembly directly to the peg in the mockup stage and haven't moved beyond that yet. if i had a lathe it would be a breeze...

Right Paul. The pegs and the levers are basically "one piece" design that rotate on a collar inside the peg. I had to modify the right peg to get it to work smoothly. The lathe made quick work of it.

Aluminum wouldn't be a good choice....especially on this engine!! ;)
