Topic: does 140 size tire fit with the 630 chain- k8?

hope someone out there has tried a 140 tire on their k8 with luck,going to order a new tire soon probably a dunlap, Im in the process of relacing the rim right now,,am planning on ordering a 130/90/ 17 but a 140 sure would look great,,thanks

I have a 150 tire with a 530 chain and have plenty of room - its a 77-78 swingarm and sprocket carrier - a 140 should be fine.

A 140 tire should be approx. 5-1/2" wide. I have a 5-1/8" wide tire on my k8 with a 630 chain and have about 1/2" clearance plus on each side, so you should be good to go.

With a wider rim the 140 will look better than on the stock rim for sure. Maybe try a 130/80.

Sounds like from other posts the 140 will work.

Forgot to mention in these tire threads that the stock chainguard gets in the way first. I had to cut a big notch in mine, then it cracked and required welding.

For current project I'll try one of those rail type chainguards, or just have one made after the wheel is on for size.
