350f countershaft bearing tight?
« on: July 02, 2008, 06:53:22 AM »
Ive noticed that my bikes rear wheel was not spinning freely on its center stand. It wasnt the brake and i assumed wheel bearings. The chain was shot so I got that off and spin away.. The wheel bearings are fine. So i thought the chain was the culprit. New chain and same problem. The drive sprocket seems tight in nuetral. More than my 550. Is there a way to pull that bearing and replace or repair it. Could it be overtightened in its place. Ive read somwhere that bearing is unobtainable. Force some grease in it?  I hope I dont have to dissassemble the engine to pound the bearing out. I think its slowing me down so any ideas would be grateful. Thanks

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

The only way to remove that bearing and the seal is by splitting the cases.

The bearing is part of the countershaft from Honda, but can be pressed off, it is the same bearing on the main shaft. Yes they are discontinued. I have found them on ebay from time to time. Other models also use that bearing, can't remember which ones off hand.
This bearing has a direct oil feed from the oil pump.

The wheel does spin in nuetral while idling on the centerstand. Ive adjusted the clutch. Also when the bike is hot from riding it doesnt spin on the centerstand.Direct line oil feed?  Could it be plugged or is it submerged with the clutch? Im using honda 10w40. Should i try 20 50w?. Its hot down here. Any unethical ideas?

you should be able to go to a bearing distributor and get the bearing.
