Great News!!! Webb (LoudPipe) is the proud new owner of FourPack! He picked her up on Sunday and already has over 100 miles on her! Great guy and the bike fits him perfectly - how cool it must be to pick up a new SOHC that is in the running for BOTM.  ;D

Hope he enjoys her & takes the August trophy!!! Good luck Webb!!!

Thanks Jeff!  Pretty excited about seeing who wins BOTM.  If it's me, I'll have a certificate made and put it right up there with all my tee-ball and underwater basket weaving trophies.

Seriously though, I can't say enough for how good of a build Jeff did on this bike.  It's flawless.  I went to have it inspected, and while I was looking out the window waiting for them to pull it around, 4 different people made a point to stop and walk all the way around it, two people in the showroom commented on it, and the guy who inspected it told me he would have passed it even if something was wrong just because he thought it was cool.  (Don't take all that the wrong way, I'm not gloating... that's a testament to Jeff (chopstar) as a builder and designer).  I almost feel bad taking it away from him! (almost)

Now, let me get this straight. We only get one vote? With ALL these fantastic choices and yet we only get ONE vote! ::) ;D Nothing like making things tough, huh? :D I'm gonna really have to do some serious work, trying to get it down to just one! :( ;)

Yeah, I also think we need the "acceptance rule", but at heffay's discretion, I don't see why (depending on the circumstances) there can't be a little leaway now and then.

You can vote as many times as you want, Bill.  But only the last one counts! ;) ;D

I think the possibility of leeway in accepting a nomination will just lead to people not bothering to accept, and then we're back at square one.  The "accept your nomination" rule either needs to be followed or discarded.  And like I said before, everyone can make it a lot easier by just PM'ing the person they've nominated and tell them they need to accept if they want to be in the running.  How hard can that be?

I know this is the voting poll, but I first want to say that I'm flattered to have been nominated, and of course I accept (a little late). Just to be nominated along side these other truly beautiful bikes is an honor.

So I have not checked out this thread in a while, and just stumbled on it now and read through the discrepancies about the nomination process. I do agree with the acceptance rule, but PMing the nominee is a must; if people do not regularly check in here, they might never know they were nominated, even though they may be fairly active elsewhere on the forum.

Okay......Okay, I FINALLY made my decision and place my vote. ::) Now, I'm going to back away from this forum, cause if I  don't, I',m liable to change my vote. (not really, I'm just clowning, to take my mind off of my Dad's situation.

we're all making good sense here, for once!   ;D

when i start new nomination threads, from now on, i'll let nominators know that it would be best if they also notify their nominee.  thanks for the suggestions guys.

Congrats!  That's a very well executed build, and you had my vote. This months' selection was tough, but your bike just stood out among the group.

Congrats chopstar. SHould of waited to sell it after the voting finished....the price probably just went up!!!

A sincere thanks for those who voted for my little replica. I kind of expected and would have been pleased with getting maybe 5-6 votes. Figured a straight up replica of an old race bike would have a much more limited appeal than many of the others...wasn't sure how many other AARP members on here that would remember watching the originals. I was absolutely flabbergasted to see how many votes it did receive, especially from such an experienced and knowledgable crowd such as this. Thank you all!!
A good bike mechanic only needs two tools, WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move, but should, use the WD40. If it does move but shouldn't use the duct tape.
