Years ago, while packing for a camping trip, I had everything set up for loading, wife brought some things out she -NEEDED- to have along. I kept on packing, fishing stuff, hiking stuff, boat stuff, and made sure I had everything for the dog, and remembered to stop and get flea/tick spray on the way. Got to the campsite and found out I had left all my wife's stuff sitting right alongside her sleeping bag. Man I heard about that for the next three years.
She'd always said I paid more attention to the dog then her anyway, so that just gave her more ammunition.
Only thing that kept it from being a miserable trip was that the kids were heading up the next day so I had them stop and grab it.
