So, on the Gold K1 I put the hardbags on I had problems with the front end shaking. It seemed to be overly-sensitive to the road bumps. It was not a tire/rim problem as I had a new tire/tube installed and the rim professionally balanced and it was fine. I tried re-aligning everything in the frontend as well to no avail. I even recently purchased a new set of forks (complete forks and sliders, not just tubes) on the chance it was something binding inside my forks or a case of bent tubes. When I removed the old forks I noticed that on the brake side (right-hand fork) the rotor had worn the slider down a little bit, maybe 1/32". I figured it was just a poorly cast slider or something, because the wheel spun true and so did the rotor (so it's not just a warped rotor or something). Anyway, I got out my new set of forks and put the frontend together and the wheel wouldn't spin. I looked and sure enough the rotor was touching the new forks in the same spot. So, what is going on here? The rotor is not warped, but is it possible it's offset incorrectly? Would a rotor from a different year cause a problem like this, perhaps it's on the wrong side of the hub? I'm really confused by this one.
