Any Suggestions For A Fork To Use On A C200 Honda?
« on: July 05, 2008, 11:50:48 AM »

Got a buddy that has a C200 Honda that he is building on and the stock fork is "Tweaked", as he put it. He is looking for any info on how to straighten it out or what front end might be "Grafted on" in it's place? I haven't a clue on either part of this and thought I'd pass it on.

For those not familiar with this model, here is a picture of one.

Looks like a pushrod motor.. like mine.. ;D

Front fork might be tricky, be careful..

 Gotta be some used around.

Be a bit careful if you change to tubes, looks like there may be raked trees and changing to regular forks may alter the geometry..

I've got 2 of those forks in my attic.  PM me.  They are off a CT 200, same thing as that but the off-road version.

Good eye 754. it is indeed a pushrod motor. ;) Course, it helps to have one yourself, huh? Bike belongs to a buddy of mine out in VA. He's pretty knowledged on these bikes, but wasn't really sure what front end might could be used that would work out (in all aspects) appreciate your input on this. ;)

I have been putting a few miles on my CB77 and the forks are all twisted and wouldn't slide. I thought they may be bent, but now I think that the seals have swelled due to the Dexron 3 in the AT fluid I used 4 years ago when I rebuilt the forks.(long term project. Bill, you understand) So I'm replacing the seals and telling everyone not to follow the instructions that say use AT fluid.

Forks can be straightened with a hydrolic press and V blocks.

Glad to hear you are able to work the kinks out of your Super Hawk Kyle. ;) The forks on the Honda that I posted, are kinda like the CA77 forks. The main structure of that fork is different and would really take some kind of efforts to attempt straightening that kind. I don't know that I'd try it myself.  :(

Good thing is, Honda! (member that previously posted) said he has what my buddy needs and I've put them in touch with each other.

Good to hear from you,  Bill ;)
