Anyone from the UK bought Dyna Coils From the US?
« on: July 05, 2008, 01:31:47 PM »
Or any parts for that matter... I'm looking for some green 3ohm coills... They are double the price here
in England so I though I would buy from the US instead, But don't want to get stung by import tax.
I ended up paying £50 import duty for a £130 product ;ast time.

I was considering ordering from Z1 but noticed a bit that said they declare and fill in all custom forms..
anyone had any joy?

That sucks when you have to pay lots of import tax. Maybe there is another company that will declare the value of the parts lower.

I just got a $1500 order in, and only had to pay 80 euro tax because the seller said the parts were only worth $400.

I pay more than enough taxes already. I don't see why our government thinks they should make $1000 on my restoration project. What have they done for me lately ;D

Yeah it's really annoying, especially when they are charging wice as much for the exact same product here.
need to find someone who will be willing to mark it as a gift  ;)

Do it this way:-

Ask if somebody on here will act as "postbox"

Pay Z1 and get them to send to your "postbox"

Pay the extra postage for your "postbox" to send them to you and he can legitemately declare them as used parts(not new anymore) and a "gift" (you aint paying him so they must be).

Dont forget when sending postage Paypal take a cut that you need to make up and that USPS no longer does surface mail only airmail so the rates are higher.

I agree with Bryan, but I think there may be a maximum gift value before tax is paid.
My daughter lives in US so I have used her as a drop off point before, I will be there again in December but that may be too long away for you.

There is a maximum gift value but dont have an invoice in the parcel and they work on the value you put on the customs form!
